About TOP 10
'TOP 10 Holiday Parks have, for over 30 years, set the standard for New Zealand Holiday Parks (camping grounds / motor camps), so you can be assured of great value for money and beautiful clean facilities. Kiwis have a tradition of staying in camping grounds and no holiday memories are complete without experiencing one of our great Parks.
Our over 45 New Zealand Holiday Parks offer fully integrated accommodation options, from motels and self contained units through to cabins, tent and powered sites (caravans, motorhomes, campervans, RVs and winniebagoes). All our Parks are in unique park-like settings, offering you breathing space, with children’s play facilities, BBQ and safe indoor and outdoor recreational areas.
To better communicate what you can expect on arrival and to better cater for your varying expectations, needs and budgets, there are now TOP 10 Holiday Parks Parks in three categories: Premium, Superior and Classic. This offers greater clarity and helps you (our visitors) understand the range of facilities and amenities that are on offer in each location like heated swimming pools, kid relevant stuff, wifi and more.'
Each campground has it's own unique personality, we will usually stay in a Top10 if we're motorcycle touring as they offer such great value for money and all offer something a little out of the ordinary. The staff are invariably friendly and flexible, nothing is ever a problem - "forgot your towel, here have one of ours' is the usual reply.
A range of accommodation options are available from the budget conscious unpowered site, cabins, right up to top quality motel units. Heaps of campervan parking is also available and each ground also has kitchen facilities, clean showers and usually some sort of common room or even a spa. In the high season you'll be better to book ahead, outside the busy months just turn up and keep your fingers crossed.
A word of explanation - in NZ a 'cabin' refers to a small, basic wooden hut, usually fitted out with 2 or 4 bunk beds, possibly a table and couple of chairs and a jug (kettle) if you're lucky. It will not have running water, cooking facilities, ensuite, bedding etc unless this is specified or you've asked for these.
