Suzuki GN125 'Flora'

Good old air cooled single cylinder four stroke. Simple, lightweight, reliable and light on fuel. You really can tour NZ on one of these, you won't get any speeding tickets but will have fun waving at those who have as you cruise past at a steady 85km/hr (if the winds behind).

Being slightly more serious, these bikes actually are pretty good for a 125cc single.   They will get you to wherever you want to go plus you'll have fun along the way.  It's amazing how many people will just wander up to you for a chat and will probably tell you they had one when they were a boy.  You are allowed to take these bikes on all of the roads which are usually banned for rentals so if you fancy taking on the Nevis Road or scooting away up 90 mile beach then go ahead and book one.  Ok the specs aren't high, around 10hp and a bit of torque hidden somewhere in the crankcase, but they'll sit all day at a million rpm and still want more.  Easy, neutral riding position, electric start and all the basics make these a fun way of getting around.
Err, don't take a pillion...
